The WCAP Housing department would like to spotlight a group of Waldo County residents who have started a Belfast Community Build window dresser project. The project works with other residents to build insulating window inserts to help keep the heat inside and lower heating costs by nearly 25%. WCAP fuel assistance still accepting applications, wants residents to be safe this winter
Waldo Community Action Partners’ Low-Income Heating Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program to help eligible low-income households pay a portion of their home energy or heating bills. Fuel assistance benefits can only be used for fuel delivered to heat your home. LIHEAP will pay directly to your contracted vendor. Important Client Mileage Reimbursement Deadline Information!
ATTENTION: All client mileage reimbursement sheets for appointment dates prior to September 1, 2010 must be submitted for payment no later than January 7, 2011. Any mileage for appointments occurring before September 1, 2010 that are received after the January 7, 2011 deadline cannot be accepted.

The Fuel Assistance office has started taking applications for the 2011-2011 season. If you need to make an appointment, you can reach them at 338-3025 or toll free at 1-800-498-3025. Please be patient when calling-- they receive a very high volume of calls this time of year.
