Waldo Community Action Partners (WCAP) is pleased to announce a series of three community meetings aimed at engaging residents and stakeholders in the development of a 78-acre land project in Belfast, which will also serve as the new headquarters for WCAP.

These meetings are designed to provide an opportunity for community members to actively participate in shaping the future of this significant project, which holds the potential to address a range of community needs, including housing, transportation, childcare, commercial and gathering space, as well as workspaces.

The community meetings will be held on the following dates and locations:

Monday, September 18

Location: Waldo County Shrine Club

Address: 20 Northport Ave, Belfast, ME 04915

Wednesday, September 20

Location: Leroy H Smith School

Address: 319 South Main Street, Winterport, ME 04496

Monday, September 25

Location: Unity Barn Raisers Event Center

Address: 32 School Street, Unity, ME 04988

Each meeting will take place from 6 PM to 7 PM, providing community members the opportunity to engage in discussions with WCAP and Matthew Carter, AIA Maine Licensed Architect of Haley Ward who is assisting with the planning of the site.

“We are dedicated to fostering strong community partnerships and delivering high-quality services that benefit our residents,” stated Donna Kelley, LCSW, CEO of WCAP. “These meetings are an integral part of our commitment to engaging with the community and ensuring that our plans align with their needs and expectations.”

WCAP’s development project will be undertaken in a phased approach based on priorities identified in part through community input and financing. This approach will ensure that the project evolves in a manner that effectively addresses the most pressing needs and aspirations of residents while fitting within WCAP’s mission.

Given the expected longevity of this project, WCAP expects to continue to engage with stakeholders as details and specifics are finetuned.
