FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred on or after January 20, 2020. To be eligible for this assistance, the death must have occurred in the United States and the death certificate must attribute the death to COVID-19. Eligible expenses include the use of funeral home equipment or staff, a burial plot or cremation niche and some transportation. For more details and information on how to apply, see this flyer.

Open Enrollment for Affordable Healthcare is almost here. Open Enrollment for 2022 Affordable health coverage begins November 1, 2021 and ends January 15, 2022. It will look different this year as Mainers will enroll for their health coverage on CoverME.gov. If you are already enrolled in a health insurance plan through HealthCare.gov and have elected to have your coverage automatically renewed, your 2022 information, application, and coverage will automatically convert to CoverME.gov.
