We are excited to share that we are starting up our public transportation DASH routes in Belfast and Rockland on April 10th! Update on MaineHousing Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) Funds

This past winter saw a significant increase in households receiving fuel assistance through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). MaineHousing and its Community Action Agency partners, including WCAP, have provided $48 million in fuel assistance this year. Last year at this time, we had provided just $25 million. Applications increased over 20% and this year we had 18,000 new households applying for assistance. MaineHousing has announced that it will stop taking HEAP applications for this heating season on Wednesday, April 12th. Changes are Coming to MaineCare

During the Covid-19 pandemic, most MaineCare members could keep their MaineCare even if they experienced changes that would have otherwise made them ineligible. This was called “continous coverage.” Continuous coverage ended April 1, 2023. People with MaineCare will need to update their information to see if they can keep their coverage. Please read this announcement from the Maine's Consumer Assistance Program for important dates and what mail you should be expecting as a current MaineCare member. If you need assistance navigating these changes, please call us at 338-6809 and ask to speak to a Resource Advocate.

The Office for Family Independence released an updated flyer to share information about their Transitional Transportation Program. This program provides eligible families with help paying for work-related travel expenses.
