Waldo Community Action Partners (WCAP or Waldo CAP) has received many questions from people wanting to know more about potential upcoming changes with their MaineCare Non-Emergency Medical Transportation, which is currently administered by MidCoast Connector, a program of Waldo CAP. Here are some answers to the more commonly asked questions. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. You can check back on this page for updates.

    • Is MidCoast Connector my broker for MaineCare Non-Emergency Medical Transportation: If you reside in Waldo, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc counties or in Brunswick or Harpswell, then Midcoast Connector is your broker.     • I have heard that my broker may change to a new broker: In October of 2023, MaineCare awarded the broker contract for region five to a new a new broker named ModivCare. WCAP appealed this decision which is currently under review. Currently we are in a stay of the process while working through the legal matter.
    • When will the appeal decision be made: We don’t know. MaineCare extended out brokerage contract through 12/31/24. It is unclear if the appeals process will conclude by then.
    • How will I know if my broker changes to ModivCare: MaineCare will notify any Member with changes and details. WCAP will also update this FAQ information and will notify all members as instructed by MaineCare.

    • Will MidCoast Public Transportation and other services still be available if my MaineCare broker changes to ModivCare: We anticipate continuing Public Transportation and other current transportation services.
