It’s back-to-school season, and Waldo Community Action Partners wants to make sure your child kicks off the school year ready to learn! This year Waldo CAP has expanded its annual Backpack and School Supply Program to offer giveaways at sites in Thorndike and Winterport, as well as Belfast. School supplies will be available free of charge to income eligible families living in Waldo County. Backpacks are prepackaged with a wide variety of age-appropriate supplies to accommodate the needs of students enrolled in Pre-K to 12th grade.
Pickups will be held throughout the month of August, with distribution events held on Wednesday, August 10th at Mount View Schools in Thorndike and Friday, August 12th at Leroy H Smith School in Winterport. Appointments can also be scheduled for pick up at the Waldo CAP office on 9 Field Street in Belfast the week of August 15th- 19th or on Sunday, August 21st.
