The holiday season is fast approaching and Neighbor for Neighbor applications are available! Waldo County residents who are in need of a box of food for the holidays and/or help with gifts for their children can fill out an application and mail it to the WCAP office. Once an application is filled out, a local organization that provides food and/or gifts will serve your family. Most applicants seeking food baskets are served through the WCAP Heroes 4 Hunger program. It’s back-to-school season, and Waldo Community Action Partners wants to make sure your child kicks off the school year ready to learn! This year Waldo CAP has expanded its annual Backpack and School Supply Program to offer giveaways at sites in Thorndike and Winterport, as well as Belfast. School supplies will be available free of charge to income eligible families living in Waldo County. Backpacks are prepackaged with a wide variety of age-appropriate supplies to accommodate the needs of students enrolled in Pre-K to 12th grade. Waldo Community Action Partners is pleased to sponsor Community Cafés for children and seniors every Thursday from June 23 – August 11. Cafés will be at the Burnham Town Hall from 11am-1pm and the Waldo Pierce Library (Frankfort) from 12-2pm. June 10, 2022, BELFAST, MAINE - The Federal Emergency Management Agency has designated available funding of $26,291 through ARPA-R and $8,511 through Phase 39 to be distributed through the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) to organizations who provide emergency food and shelter services in Waldo County. Change in cancellation policy for MaineCare transportation.

Please take note of the following important change to the Mid-Coast Connector cancellation policy for all MaineCare transportation. Effective July 1, 2022 we will require a 24-hour notice from the scheduled time of pick up to cancel transportation. Cancellations less than 24 hours from the scheduled time of pick up will be subject to the No-Show policy. If you have any questions about this change, please reach out to customer service at Tel: 855 930 7900 during regular business hours Mon-Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Mid-Coast Connector, a division of Waldo Community Action Partners, is the regional MaineCare Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Broker for all MaineCare members residing in Waldo, Knox, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties, as well as Brunswick and Harpswell.
