WCAP is once again offering Healthcare Navigation assistance for individuals looking for health insurance through Maine's open marketplace. Open enrollment begins on November 1. CoverME.gov is Maine’s Health Insurance Marketplace and the only place to get the financial assistance to make insurance and care more affordable. Free local help is available! Update on MaineHousing Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) Funds

This past winter saw a significant increase in households receiving fuel assistance through the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). MaineHousing and its Community Action Agency partners, including WCAP, have provided $48 million in fuel assistance this year. Last year at this time, we had provided just $25 million. Applications increased over 20% and this year we had 18,000 new households applying for assistance. MaineHousing has announced that it will stop taking HEAP applications for this heating season on Wednesday, April 12th. Changes are Coming to MaineCare

During the Covid-19 pandemic, most MaineCare members could keep their MaineCare even if they experienced changes that would have otherwise made them ineligible. This was called “continous coverage.” Continuous coverage ended April 1, 2023. People with MaineCare will need to update their information to see if they can keep their coverage. Please read this announcement from the Maine's Consumer Assistance Program for important dates and what mail you should be expecting as a current MaineCare member.
