Volunteers are needed to support the Summer Food Service Program in locations around Waldo County!
Summer is a tough time for families who rely on free and reduced lunch. Kids’ nutrition may sharply change when school is out and the financial challenge for families is significant.
To combat child hunger this summer, Waldo Community Action Partners is partnering with the USDA and the Maine Department of Education to distribute fresh nutritious meals and snacks at six locations around Waldo County.
We work with private and public site partners to make sure we are serving food in locations that are easy for families to access, share fun activities, and coach older kids into helping out, giving them a sense of accomplishment and pride.
The Summer Food Service Program relies on committed volunteers to help distribute food on Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 6-August 27. Can you join us?
