On Saturday May 3rd, Waldo Community Action Partners’ transportation program will host a giant benefit auction for the “Ride with Pride” program, a vital part of the effort to integrate disabled populations into the community by assisting with the costs of transportation for visiting, shopping, medical appointments, errands, church, work, or wherever people with disabilities need to go.
The live auction event will take place at the Blue Goose Event Center on Route 1 in Northport and will be called by licensed auctioneer Linda Sullivan, Maine license # 1010. There will be a table auction from 9:00 A.M to 12:45 P.M. The LIVE auction starts at 11:00 A.M.
The benefit auction, which is sponsored by Waldo County General Hospital, Front Street Shipyard, Bay Taxi, The Republican Journal, Total Property Care, Dead River Company, K&K Enterprises & Crossroads to Calvary Church, will include: Two South African safari photo-shoot adventures for two people each, 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan in great shape 100 gallons of fuel oil, fitted firewood delivered, all day charter trip for 20 people, Woodlawn glider w/trays, art and autographed books, many handcrafted items and over 150 other items.
Among the items to be auctioned will also be a diverse array of gift certificates for legal services, dining out, motel accommodations, gravel products, amusement parks, whale watches, services, golf, oil changes and more.
“This is a great way to have a fun day with some good food, some great finds, and at the same time help raise money for a valuable community program,” said Edward Murphy, Waldo County Public Transportation Director and event coordinator. “We always see a lot of people come out to participate in these events. They help so many of our friends and neighbors on a daily basis. So come on down to Northport on May 3rd for a good time.”
Admission is $5.00 and includes lunch and entry for heads and tails event, children under 15 are free. There will also be a 50/50 Raffle. Lunch will be served at 12:30 P.M.
Donations to the program are always welcome and can be made online by clicking on the “Donate Now” button at www.walcocap.org or by mailing a check to Waldo Community Action Partners at P.O. Box 130 in Belfast, ME 04915. Donations may also be delivered in person to Waldo Community Action Partners, 9 Field Street in Belfast.
