For the past four summers, WCAP’s Early Childhood programs have been collaborating with Midcoast Maine Community Action’s Women’s Infants and Children (WIC) program to bring families to the farmers’ market. From July to October, WIC provides eligible pregnant women and children from 9 months to 5 years Farmers’ Market benefits, in addition to the monthly foods they already receive as a benefit of WIC. WCAP Early Childhood Program announces new partnership with RSU 71

Waldo Community Action Partners (WCAP) Early Childhood Program will partner with RSU 71 for the upcoming school year to provide multiple pre-k classrooms in Waldo County. Following the recent closure of a local nonprofit, WCAP and RSU 71 entered into partnership agreement to preserve early childhood education services in the community. There will be four classrooms; two located at East Belfast Elementary School and two located at Gladys Weymouth Elementary School in Morrill. WCAP was lucky enough to have been invited to be a part of the Belfast Maine Rotary Club’s Belfast Harborfest Evening by the Bay event on August 16, 2019. The event was held to raise funds for our organization. Members of our Board of Directors and staff came together to volunteer. We served up some amazing dishes from local restaurants and made so many new friends, including Miss Maine! Thousands of dollars were raised at the live auction for kidney dialysis patients we transport to treatment through our transportation program, Mid-Coast Public Transportation. It will be up for auction at the Belfast Maine Rotary Club's Belfast Harborfest Evening By the Bay event. WCAP celebrates selection as Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program beneficiary

Waldo Community Action Partners (WCAP) has been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program for the month of August. The Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program, which launched in April 2014, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.
